How do you get a baby oil stain off your couch! i tried soap, water, baby powder! help!! thanks?

Hi

What you need to do with this stain is use a solvent type spotter. Since you don't have the professional stuff try using orange glo, 409. You can also try acetate. If you are using acetate put it on a towel first and blot with towel.

First you will need to do is a test.

To do the test spray the cleaner, using the back edge of the cushion, spray a spot about the size of a quarter and wipe it with a white towel and let it dry on it鈥檚 own.

If you get colour transfer onto the towel it is not safe to clean.

If there is no change in colour and no watermark then it is safe to clean.

If there is a watermark but no colour change it is safe to clean, only thing is you will need to clean the whole thing.( to stop watermarks)

If you decide to clean it DO NOT do a lot of scrubbing on the fabric because you can damage the hair that is on the fabric.

An orange cleaner is your best bet. Yes, dish detergent will do it, but will leave a soapy residue for years to come, orange cleaner mixed with water to a mild solution works just as good but without the residue and it leaves the fabric smelling great. (also, if a baby is around, orange cleaner is safer)How do you get a baby oil stain off your couch! i tried soap, water, baby powder! help!! thanks?
Use a stain remover made specifically for upholstery. Couches aren't made of your regular t-shirt cotton. Try something safe but heavy duty.
fess up it's not baby oil
About the only thing that tackles the grease stains is dish soap. Just be sure to use sparingly or your couch will have a soapy residue that is HARD to get off...
Try ';Simple Green'; its a degreaser and available in stores
Dawn dishwashing detergent works best on any oily stain. You may have to wash and rinse several times, but you'll get the best result.
