Is baby powder a preservative?

i'm just asking. Because i've done a weird experiment during school holidays.


First i pluck some green leaf then put it inside a plastic box and cover it with baby powder then close the box then put it under my bed.


After a few days, the leaf is not dry yet, and it's still green.Is baby powder a preservative?
it might be moisturiser..not the preservativeIs baby powder a preservative?
I think it's a preservative.
