Should my friend breast feed her baby or use store bought powder?

Which one works best?Should my friend breast feed her baby or use store bought powder?
BREASTMILK is best, of course. It is designed especially for babies. Formula is a copy of breasrmilk, just not as good! The reasons why breastmilk is better are endless. Formula should only be used as a last resort if there are medical reasons for not being able to breastfeed.Should my friend breast feed her baby or use store bought powder?
as long as the mother is not on any medications and is around the baby a lot (such as a stay at home mom not in school) breast feeding is great.

However, if she tries and decides to switch to formula, that is fine too.

Most of the formulas anymore have the added nutrients that breast milk has.

I would suggest at least breast feeding for a couple weeks so that the baby gets the much needed colostrum which is the thick yellow liquid that comes out before the milk comes in.

Either way, the baby stands equal chances of being healthy
Breast feeding is always best for the baby and the mother (will help her burn some of the baby fat...which is always a good thing) But if this is something she feels uncomfortable doing, than she can always feed with baby formula.

It is whatever she feels the most convenient and most comfortable doing though. I wish her all the luck!!
human milk is obviously the most suited for human babies and toddlers.

This is a decision only she (and her partner) can make for her and her baby. Almost all mums are able to breastfeed with the right support.. many many bfeeding problems can be overcome, so if she has any questions or problems and wishes to breastfeed, the best thing you can do is to suggest she get some advice.

A great source of advice is the Australian Breastfeeding Association. They have free email and phone counseling.

You sound like a very caring friend.. she is lucky to have great support already!
I breastfed my daughter for 8 weeks then I switched to formula. She was sick all the time for a year then I found out that she was allergic to the formula. So we had to buy 10 dollar formula that we went through six times a week. She was still sick .

With my second baby ...my son I breastfed for 15 months he has only been sick twice and is 2 years old now. Have her breastfed or pump if the baby does not latch on. Its only for such a short amount of your friends time that will make a lasting impression on her child. She is going to need encouragement it's not easy ...so root her on!
breast milk is always recommended, but doesnt always work for everyone, there are some fantastic formulas now, always be sure to steralise everything very well, measure the correct amounts and always maintain perfect hygeine.. eg hand washing and it will be fine
If she and baby are both content and doing well with breastfeeding, then by all means she should breastfeed.

However if she or bubs are experiencing problems, then nothing is wrong with using formula.
breast feeding has the best nutrition for babies.. my mom breast fed all of her kids and they didnt get sick often at all but her friends that used formula their babies were always sick!! and also formula makes tha babies poop stink wayyyy worse!!! haha lol..
well is whatever she wants but breastfeed is better for the baby she wont get sick that much and plus no bottles no getting up at night food is always better not like formula but i m bottle feeding my baby now because i work
Breast feeding is better for the baby, however it is a very personal decision.
If your friend can breast feed its best for her new born. Dont let anyone push her into it though, its her decision
Breast mike is better for baby. But its whatever she want to do. formula wont hurt the baby at all
breast is best
depends on her individual needs they both work just fine
