Do you put powder in your baby girl's diaper?

I know it's common practice to powder a baby's bottom and diaper when you change it, but for a baby girl, this seems like a breeding ground for yeast infection. Is it a good idea or not?Do you put powder in your baby girl's diaper?

i would avoid using powder completely. my doc warned me that even a TINY amount can get into baby's lung n it could be fatal! to me if there's any risk (however small) when it comes to my son then i won't use it.


when i change my son's nappy i make sure that he's completely dry by after gently patting the area (esp the creases -- he's got loads lol). then i apply i thin layer of sudocrem (so as not to ruin the absorption of the nappy) and viola!


if she's starting to get a nappy rash then the best treatment is to eliminate the source. dnt leave her in a wet nappy and after a nappy change try leave her as long as possible without a nappy. i place a towel n changing mat in his bed n place him in it whilst im preparing his breakfast but he doesn't stay long cos its cold!

baby powder has been shown to lead to cervical cancer in women. corn starch is a better option, if you need to use something. the dust particles can irritate baby's lungs and cause coughing spasms.
It used to be common practice to use baby powder when changing diapers but nowadays we know not to do this. Never use baby powder, regardless of baby's sex, it can get into their lungs and cause serious problems.
no you shouldn't use baby powder all you need to do is be sure to keep her dry because all powder is good for is to keep them dry and baby powder is also bad for there lungs
Only when she has the start of a diaper rash. Diaper rashes are caused from excessive moisture and the powder will dry it right up within one use.





EDIT: I do use cornstarch baby powder. Almost all baby powder is made from cornstarch now days.
I wouldn't do my mother's doctor told her it's not a good idea put powder near your private parts can make you sick
The powder is bad for baby's lungs.
