Putting baby powder in your hair?

what does it do?

hayley williams said it substitutes washing it when you have hairdye in your hair and you dont want it to fade.Putting baby powder in your hair?
It absorbs the oil from your hair and it's scented so it makes it smell better, but I just think the thought of not washing is nasty.Putting baby powder in your hair?
YES! it works! I have naturally dirty blonde hair that I dyed a bright red, so I obviously couldn't wash it every day or else it would fade and I would have to get it redone that much more often.

Baby power does work very well, and it's cheaper than dry shampoo (although dry shampoo tends to work a little better). There's also something Hayley mentioned in an article in seventeen or cosmo girl or something a while ago.. you probably read it.. about another product much like baby powder or dry shampoo that comes in various colors so not to make your hair whiteish.
It most definetly soaks up the oil your hair can produce TEMPORARILY...as for a substitute? NO, that just doesnt sound like good hygiene. It has no affect on any type of hair dye either...AT LEAST YOU KNOW NOW! lol
the idea of putting talc in your hair works in the same way as a dry shampoo, if your roots are a little greasy but you havent time to wash it you can put a bit on your hair and it soaks up the grease making it look cleaner, be careful if you have dark hair tho as it can tend to look a bit grey, another alternative is to put hairspray on your roots and brush out when its dried in, this also soaks up any greasy roots

think its a myth about not wanting colour to fade though as i never heard that one before!!
I read somewhere that breathing in something that's in baby powder can actually be really bad for you. I suggest using corn starch. it's all natural, so you don't have to worry about it being bad for you, and in truth, the main ingredient in baby powder IS corn starch. it works miracles if you just don't have the time to wash!!
In addition to what notaware said, I'd like to add that you should put some in your hand and then use a powder blush to apply to your hair and the roots and scalp and wah lah no greasy hair. Let's face it sometime we have to go somewhere and don't have time to wash....the powder really helps when you're in a pinch!! I know what you are saying about the fading part. If you haven't washed your hair, and let's say you have blonde in it, it will look darker, so when you add the powder, it lightens it just a bit and gives it a ';lift'; so to say. It's just temporary it won't actually prevent fading in the long run.

What she is saying is if you have colored your hair and don't want to wash it everyday so it won't fade so quickly you can prevent your hair from looking all grungy and dirty and greasy by putting the baby powder in your hair. I think you just kinda misunderstood her or something.
no u put taclum powder not baby powder.
umm i think ppl just do it so it wont show that ur hair is greasy lol so no it dont supsitute washing thats gross
