Does baby powder really help you to not sweat?

REGULAR POWDER WITHOUT SCENT IS THE BEST ..THEM ONES WITH SCENT CAN IRRITATE YOU MORE, I FOUND THAT OUT!!!! ALSO, TRY CORNSTARCH THATS WHAT REALLY HELPS TOO!!Does baby powder really help you to not sweat?
I don't really know the answer, but if you buy baby powder, make sure it is made of corn starch, NOT repeat NOT talc, which is bad news. Research has shown that there is an ingredient in talc that is similar to asbestos and could cause ovarian cancer.Does baby powder really help you to not sweat?
yes my brother uses it.
No not at all. It just soaks up the sweat so it does not stain your clothes. Baby powder is for babies and babies do not sweat like we do.
No only minimal absorption and pretty smell.
No, it prevents chafing but you need an anti-perspirant like Dry Idea to stop sweating.
yes it does

Do men like to use Johnson's baby powder ?

I am a straight male now at the age of 59 and from the age of 20 onwards found using Johnson鈥檚 baby powder under arms and in lower parts took away the sweat and soreness I was getting as a long distance driver in the seat for long periods and even more so today as I am now 20 stone but although I love the smell I have always felt conscious of using it in front of friends and in company as they may think there is something immature with me which is not the case.

Is there any other male using Johnson鈥檚 products out there and are you OK with that or do you have any opinions?

Davie202Do men like to use Johnson's baby powder ?
You bet ! Johnson's baby powder is the best thing for baby diaper rash which is what everybody gets, man or woman , except, without the diapers. Where I live, we experience seasonal extremes, from vicious summers to sub-freezing winters. The sweating that goes on, takes it's toll on certain parts of the body. After a shower, I dry carefully, ( otherwise, you are asking for the problem to intensify,) and douse the offending regions with a generous cloud of baby powder and the problem is immediately relieved. If I go bush, on the road, or ever get stuck on a desert island - this would be one of the items that I consider to be genuine survival gear.Do men like to use Johnson's baby powder ?
yes!
There's nothing wrong with it - I use it. It can help keep the crotch area dry.
Nothing wrong with this. I love the smell too.
absolutely, why should women have all the good things. if you like it use it I say
there is nothing wrong with using Johnson's baby powder, it shows that you are conscious of personal hygiene, perhaps you use this one brand because you have become to like the smell and that it does the job you want it to do.My husband uses talc everyday.
good to use
no its not
Yeah man i use it cause i started getting fungus on my butt and stomach area i went to the docs and they said its cause i went to the beach and after i didn't rinse right (which i did!!! ) and fungus was there. So i put on powder and it went away completly. i use it all the time one day i shwered and put it on my crtoch and area my wife wanted some afternoon delight and she said i had an albino dick! it was funny
Yes, I put it in my rubber gimp catsuit so it slips on easily and then my mistress chains me up!!! Mmmm the smell of johnsons and rubber plus my mistress is fantastic!!
Yes especially around my sweaty Nads, Lancelot what do you know. Use it bro. I also use a baby wipe to clean my ring following a number 2.
I use it in my workboots as foot powder.
NO! generally mens dont use any kind of powder..
Of course! Men are hygienic and will, at times, think ahead based on past experience to make a potential uncomfortable situation... less. Now this usually involves booze or pot. Thanks to chicks we use (behind closed doors) their clever secrets. Hey, if it makes you feel better why not?
some men like to use johnson's baby powder so their face will be white but some don't like because they feel that they are like a baby...
Being a user too, I don't find it immature to use baby powder if it makes you feel fresh and convenient with your environment. I been using Johnson's baby powder (cornstarch based) to keep me dry and not smell from sweat. My wife would even put scented powder on my body after each bath, smell it and it would heighten her arousal for pleasurable sex. Do not stop this practice since you're the only one out there! Cheers!
there is not even a thing wrong woth it. everyone loves johnson's baby product

Is it okay to use expired baby powdered formula (if it's only expired by a month or two)?

I was given 4 cans of expired baby formula from a lady at my church. They expired in November. Would you use them?Is it okay to use expired baby powdered formula (if it's only expired by a month or two)?
Well no to be honest. I think I read somewhere that the nutrients degrade over time. I don't know how fast they deteriorate but a month or two shouldn't be that bad- just not optimal. It is not worth the risk though. Is it okay to use expired baby powdered formula (if it's only expired by a month or two)?
If it is dry powder (and was kept dry) it should be ok, If it if one of those that have some moisturizing agents I would throw them away just to be sure.

Expiry dates are usually timed too early to make sure nothing will happen for sure until the product expires. Companies keep themselves safer that way.

EDIT: oh sry, if milk powder was meant, toss it. I thought you meant the stuff you use on the butt :)
is it definitely an expiry date? an expiry date you must not use after that date ... but if it was a best before date i would use it ... best before date is only a guide that's why places like right price are allowed to fuction
No, formula is usually good for a year so that formula is REALLY old. When it comes to a baby.... please do not trust that.
No I certainly would'nt,
absolutely not..
When in doubt throw it out.
no i wouldnt either,
nope... I don't believe I would.
I wouldnt you never know
No

  • Baby powder formula bad?

I just heard that powder formula has toxins and bacteria in it. Is this true? Does anyone have a link to this?Baby powder formula bad?
Actually, it WAS available here in the states, but only in ethnic stores (where it is NOT FDA regulated, for some odd reason).

They were adding melamine in it to boost protein. Unfortunately, melamine in sensitive individuals (like babies!) tends to cause kidney problems.

Remember all those problems with the pets and contaminated food last year? That was caused by melamine, too.

I don't think the Chinese always think their cunning plan all the way through..

Anyway, as long as you don't buy your formula at ethnic stores, I'm sure you're fine.Baby powder formula bad?
In the United States, No. Baby formula is regulated by the FDA. Where did you hear this? is this about the formula from china?

How does FDA regulate Infant Formulas?

The safety and nutritional quality of infant formulas are ensured by requiring that manufacturers follow specific procedures in manufacturing infant formulas. In fact, there is a law -- known as the Infant Formula Act -- which gives FDA special authority to create and enforce standards for commercial infant formulas. Manufacturers must analyze each batch of formula to check nutrient levels and make safety checks. They must then test samples to make sure the product remains in good condition while it is on the market shelf. Infant formulas must also have codes on their containers to identify each batch and manufacturers must keep very detailed records of production and analysis.
Well, I'd never trust it. I always use homemade baby powder on my baby so I know exactly where the ingredients are coming from and what they are. Plus, it's super cheap and easy.

If you wanna know how, read this article. It gives the instructions and ingredients:

    http://www.associatedcontent.com/article鈥?/a>
yes. it was in china. apparently the company was replacing protein with a toxin to save money and make it seem healthier, so many babies died from it...im not sure of a link but if you google tainted china powdered formula something should come up.
Use the major brands like Similac, Enfamil etc. Make sure the seal is not broken and you should be ok. Good luck.

I am so curious to why you would want to use it?

that would kind of creep me out to put it all over my body, what if something crawled in there and laid eggs or something? ew.
Yes, baby powder does not expire.

My mom has a very 'vintage' bottle in her medicine cabinet and i use it all the time.

I say yes, because I got some foot powder from WWII when I was in Viet_Nam and it was still good.
check the expiry date before using. If expired, throw away as it may be harmful
Who knows? It's seriously not that expensive - just buy a new bottle.
    use paprika
    NO WAY

Ok ive heard if you but baby powder on ur face it keeps you make up on longer. so how much and stuff....?

ok so if thats true. my skin is like dry im putting mosituriser so that wonlnt be like that for long. but how muchhh does it work um ya.

just give me all the info you know.Ok ive heard if you but baby powder on ur face it keeps you make up on longer. so how much and stuff....?
Just put a little bit where you apply your makeup, you don't want your face to look white. Try using a big makeup brush to put it on.Ok ive heard if you but baby powder on ur face it keeps you make up on longer. so how much and stuff....?
Putting face powder on your skin after foundation sets the foundation.

Baby powder has different properties and isnt the same as face powder.

    Face powder does this though.

you should always use (non-oil-free) moisturizer on your skin no matter what your skin condition is.
i would not suggest putting baby powder on your face. if you have dry skin, i would not suggest a powder foundation. use a liquid foundation instead.

if you want your makeup to stay, here are my suggestions:

moisturize your skin. use a face primer like laura mercier. then use a liquid foundation or tinted moisturizer. use concealer where needed. using a large blush brush, lightly powder your face with a loose powder. apply your make up and set it again with another light dusting of loose powder.

the face primer keeps the makeup from slipping and the powder will set it. this is the best way to keep your makeup on all day.
i have never heard of using baby powder. you are better off using a translucent face powder. i use the sheer powder from bobbi brown to set my liquid foundation and to help with the shine factor from oily skin. i put on my foundation, then take a big fluffy brush and just brush a bit on my face.
Your makeup is made mostly of water mixed with chemicals and you don't gain anything by keeping it ';on'; all day, rather';fresh'; all day is probably what you are looking to do.

Think about those lipsticks that stay on all day. The biggest complaint is that they are drying and people who use them don't have very pretty lip skin after a while.

Puting baby powder on your face wouldn't be helpful . Here is a very inexpensive regiment to try and I believe you will be very happy with the results. When I name the product to use I will use the = sign to tell you what it does the same job as.

    WASH FACE

Phisoderm = cetaphil (cetaphil is the best thing ever to use on your face if you can spend $8.00 for a pump of 8 oz. Phisoderm is what the hospitals used to clean wounds because of it's very gentleness to skin and still removed dirt and bateria. both come in different skin types, I highly suggest you start with normal skin type first because until you get your skin in that healthy glow state you really can't tell what skin type you are.

    USE ASTRINGENT

tiny plastic travel spray bottle filled with witch hazel = aveda toner

just close your eyes and spritz all over your face lightly. It should feel like a cooling mist.

APPLY MOISTURIZER - WHERE YOU NEED IT

avoid that T zone of lower part of your forehead, nose and chin completely. use oil of olay = expensive department store stuff

after applying moisturize your face should feel fresh, not greasy and not tight. wait at least 5 minutes. in the meantime curl your eye lashes and apply conceler on your eye lids and all around your eye, like a raccoon. should be one shade lighter than skin sounds silly but conceler will be the building block for your makeup to adhere and stay fresh.

Now that your moisturizer has been stablized, you have let it set in and you aren't greasy and you aren't tight feeling. take the conceler stick or liquid and dap light amounts on forehead and chin only. these are the two spots that makeup wears off of first, your cheeks will have a layer of blush and so they keep the makeup longer (every notice that?)

Now you look kind of too light and your eyes are really standing out as white. apply a foundation that is a liquid powder type in a compact but don't use your fingers, use the softess touch you have as if barely getting near the surface and breeze over it with the makeup round sponge that comes in the compact. placement for fondation is everywhere except around the eye and under it. again, let it set and curl those eyelashes again:) then the last step is to take loose powder (we call it setting powder) you should have two shades, one that is illuminous and light and one that is just your skintone. the light one is brushed over your entire eye lid, eyelashes and all. (because you have curled your lashes twice and added powder to them you will see amazing lashes with just one coat of mascara) and down under your eyes. the skintone powder should be brushed extremely lightly over your cheeks, forehead and chin. Then alway use a blush that is within your tone.

Now you have layered up the perfect makeup that will withstand 12 hours of whatever. If you are too dry during the day pack that little spritz bottle mentioned with mineral water (bottled just like drinking water) and spritz only where and when you feel dry. your skin will glow!

Twice a week use a St Ives mask / or scrub that suites your skin type and this will remove surface dry layers and your skin will get prettier and prettier. Oh, by the way, I suggest physicans formula for both loose powders and soft big brushes,

I bet you are going to be so fab with this 10 regiment.

and if you can, get a free facial at one the beauty counters because they will tell you what tones you are, what skin type and what color suites your complexion for eye shadow, then when they try to sell you something just say no thanks and head for the nearest CVS pharmacy and get those colors, etc.

I love makeup and have an outlet store hear by called the cosmetic store. Did you know that the same company owns este lauder and Lore'l? It also has great products from Mac, and other big names for much less. Law dictates that the cosmetics be within expiration dates so you really are buying the same exact thing as the deptartment stores.

How much the price of baby milk powder for newly born baby in china?

    200,000,000 yen

Does baby powder help you stop sweating?

Yeah, baby powder would leave you smelling like a bathroom if you ask me. If you are having problems with sweat, wear a little deoderant and try this:

Ok, this is going to sound crazy, but DRINK LOTS of WATER. I mean A Lot.

It sounds like the last thing you'd want to do if you sweat badly, but I had a sweat problem for YEARS and tried everything under the sun. Then, a diet required me to drink ooodles of water all day long. The very first day that I did this, I stopped sweating from my arm pits. I can't tell you how nice it was to go to meetings at work without these big puddles on my dress shirt. I don't have to put so much deoderant on any more either (which by the way, gets into your clothes over time and doesn't come out in the wash and the residue actually wicks moisture away from your armpits and makes the puddles look even worse).

Now when I have an important meeting, I start drinking water in the morning and on the way to work, and by the time I get there, I'm totally dry! If I stop drinking water for a couple hours, it comes back a little and I just drink more. The results are immediate.

I have no idea why it works. All I can say is if you have a sweat problem, try it today, and if it works, vote me for best answer :)

Good luck!Does baby powder help you stop sweating?
No, it's just leaves you smelling like a baby.

Will baby powder dry the skin?

On an adult? Will baby powder dry the skin?
It doesn't dry skin, since it's just a coating on top of it. It can be cleaned or wiped off easily.

Obviously, if you use it in winter when your skin is already dry, it won't help.

  • Why do people enjoy eating talcum powder (baby powder)?

Most likely the person has an iron deficiency and talcum powder/baby powder has iron in it.

It sounds like they have a disorder called Pica, which is the eating of non-food materials (e.g., coal, soil, chalk, paper etc.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pica_(disor鈥?/a>

    Baby powder stops greasy hair?

ok i heard that if you put baby/talc powder on your hair if its greasy it gets ridx of it is this true?Baby powder stops greasy hair?
Hahaha yes. Embarrassingly enough, I use baby powder on a somewhat regular basis.

Apply it to the roots of your hair, and then brush it through thoroughly (otherwise your roots will be white!) It really helps as a quick fix, but by the end of the day the grease will be noticeable again.

Cornstarch works just as well, and without the smell.Baby powder stops greasy hair?
it's true, but will only last an hour or two as it is just a temporary fix. but only use it on the scalp and near the roots. also, depending on your hair color, you might be able to see it so this is usually only recommended for blondes.
I have done this once before and it doesn't stop it for good... obviously, but it could get you through the day or night.

Just be careful not to put too much or you will end up looking like you have gray/silver hair!

    Baby powder on mascara?

I was watching the daily ten today on E! and i caught the tale end of a makeup artist giving tips on makeup (obviously lol). But he said something about applying baby powder onto the lashes with an eyeshadow brush before applying the mascara. What does that do? And why should you do it?Baby powder on mascara?
Its to prep them and make them appear like they have more volume

I find this makes lashes clumpy though and dont care for it ..Baby powder on mascara?
hmm...well if you don't want to wash your hair every day but get oily roots, you can put a little baby powder on your roots, if it's still a little white in the morning blow dry and it's gone. it's cool, adds volume too. so putting it on your eyelashes, i imagine it acts as a primer and a thickener. like that mascara that they have out now where you put the white one on before the black, it just really makes the black stand out more. i put on eyeshadow before mascara, and get a little on my lashes if it's a dark color.
Haha I saw that as well. I tryed it today and didn't find it did anything. It is to make your lashes look longer and fuller but it didn't really do anything for me. :(
sounds like it's help volumize it and/or prime it.

    Can I use baby powder?

My baby is newborn, I heard from a doctor that baby powder contains poisonous stuff I dunno what they are, I mean they're toxic. So, please tell me , is it safe to use baby powder. Can I use baby powder?
If baby powder was toxic to babies then it wouldn't be called BABY powder...that's what it's for. Just don't let your baby inhale it and it should be fine. I've been using it on my daughter since birth. She has sensitive skin so it helps fend away diaper rashes and it makes her smell pretty :)Can I use baby powder?
You are not supposed to use baby powder because it can travel through their nasal passages into their lungs. I do however use it I will turn away from my son and pour some in my hand and put it on that way. I have not heard anything about poisons in baby powder. If you don't feel comfortable with powder you can always buy corn starch.
Your doctor is a noob is he called baby powder toxic.

It can be harmful if they breathe too much of it in, but if you use it for its purposes only, I don't see how it is harmful.
it's only toxic if they inhale it. so dont put it on his/her face or even neck (but why would you?). some ppl put it on their baby's neck idk why but it's not recommended. I dont use baby powder bc of this risk, but thats my choice.
I talked to my daughters pediatrician about this when my daughter was born last year. I was told that it is fine to use powder on boy's, but it can cause yeast infections in girls.
Baby powder is not toxic, if it was, imagine the lawsuits!

Talc was shown to cause problems, and is no longer used in baby powder.
you can use it with care and you can buy talc free baby powder get that and youll be fine!!
I think it would b fine! i mean thats what they invented it for right...?

Dont listen to me tho...i dont have any kids.

    Can you eat baby powder?

About 2 months ago I asked this 19 year old girl that I work with if she had any weird food craving cause she was at the time 7 months prgnant. She said that she craved dirt. Now she eats baby powder. the whole thing. she said you can just scoop it in your mouth you have let it poof in the air and breath it in. Shes seems almost obessed with it. I think her Doc said that it was okay! What do you think? Can you maybe mix it with something like yogurt to give it some flavor? Can you eat baby powder?
It's called PICA... and its not a healthy habit, especially with eating in large doses. Google PICA and print out what you find to show your friend.

If nothing else, replace the dirt or powder with ice. At least it's hydrating. Also... she probably is low in iron. I'd honestly suggest switching to a prenatal viatmin with a higher iron dosage or take an additional supplement. Can you eat baby powder?
breathing it in is not good. Putting anything in your lungs is bad. As far as eating it, shes got to be pulling your leg...to tell you the truth it sounds really grose to me.
why would you eat baby powder?
It can cause breathing problems that is why Dr's don't even like people to use baby powder on infants anymore.

It is abnormal to crave things that aren't food and her doctor should be made aware of the problem. I can't remember the name of it but I know there is information about it in the handbook that the Dr gave me and that if you start to crave non-food things then you are suppose to notify your doctor ASAP.
Your friend has Pica. It happens when a pregnant woman is deficient in certain vitamins and minerals. I can't believe her doctor would say that this is alright. Make sure she actually told her doctor. If she did I would find another doctor. This type of behavior can be dangerous for the fetus.
I'm sorry but that is just disgusting it makes me sick just thinking about someone eating something that's meant for changing diapers
Trust me it's not the flavor she is interested in. I have 3 children. All three pregnancies I was the same way. My midwife for the third pregnancy said it was an iron deficiency. After I took the iron pills, I didn't want any powder. It doesn't hurt anyone. It is like eating cornstarch for the crunch or ice. Tell her to try the iron pills once or twice a day as prescribed by a doctor. She'll for get all about the baby powder.
Because baby powder has chemicals in it I would NOT suggest eating it.
uhmm... no i dont think u can... no offense thats kinda weird! lol

Your question is cool and funny! LOL!

Its actually how words have been used to explain origins of contents of packages..like peruivian peanuts.. when in peru you do not call them peruvian peanuts, just peanuts since you are in peru.

Anyway, seriuously on your question where does baby powder come from, its actually talc. Talc is a mineral composed of hydrated magnesium silicate with the chemical formula H2Mg3(SiO3)4 or Mg3Si4O10(OH)2. It occurs as foliated to fibrous masses, its monoclinic crystals being so rare as to be almost unknown. It has a perfect basal cleavage, and the folia are non-elastic although slightly flexible. It is sectile and very soft, with a hardness of 1 (Talc is the softest of the Mohs' scale of mineral hardness). It has a specific gravity of 2.5 - 2.8, a waxlike or pearly luster, and is translucent to opaque. Its colour ranges from white to gray or green and it has a distinctly greasy feel. Its streak is white.

Talc is used in baby powder, an astringent powder used for preventing rashes on the area covered by a diaper (see diaper rash).

    Hope this answers your question...

it wont last all day its not meant to. all you can do is keep reapplying through out the day. put some in a small compact with a powder sponge,( both bought from chemists) and reapply.

Other than baby powder for waxing ?

hey guys just wanna ask if there is an alternative for using something other than baby powder to wax...cause i dont have any at the moment and need to wax! tell me all the things u could think of so i can chek if i have it. Thanks xxOther than baby powder for waxing ?
Any type of flour will do.

Before you wax get an exfoliating glove or a ahandfull of sugar and scrub your legs down and rinse. Don't use any oil or shampoo though.

The waxing will be much easier and efficent, since dead skin cells that sually owuld stick to the wax and make it harder to grasp hairs and scrubbed off.

We are giving powder milk to our 40 days old baby but he is omitting it after some time. what is a problem?

My wife has to join office next week so with breast milk she also started giving powder milk after consulting with doctor. but the baby is omitting it after some time.We are giving powder milk to our 40 days old baby but he is omitting it after some time. what is a problem?
ok i hope you mean milk powder specially made for babies......normal milk powder should not be made up for such a young baby at all! your wife can continue to breastfeed even after she returns to work- she can express milk at work and store it in an insulated bag or fridge and keep it for baby the next day. Baby is most likely vomiting because their little tummy isnt used to the strange stuff after having such lovely breastmilk. if you must give formula (baby milk powder) just try a little at a time before each breast feed and gradually increase the amount of formula. I hope your wife will continue to breastfeed as well as human milk is the very best for babies and is uncontaminated (look at what happened in China recently). We are giving powder milk to our 40 days old baby but he is omitting it after some time. what is a problem?
the problem is that artificial milk digests *very* different from breast milk and your baby's system cannot make the switch from one to the other.

breast fed babies also have much more powerful mouths than bottle-fed so when they're given a bottle, they often take too much, too fast, and it overloads the stomach.

instead of formula, your wife should pump extra breast milk to be given while she's at work.
It sounds like colic. You need to burp your baby more or take your baby to the doctor and see what they say. My daughter was like this after going onto formula and it turned out she had colic. The longer you leave it the worse it will get so get to doctor today or tomorrow.
Don't you love asking a question about formula, and then people have to jump down your throat as to why you aren't breastfeeding, which is completly irrelevant??

Anyway, it sounds a little bit like an intolerance to something, or it could just be plain old reflux, or even posetting.
I assume you mean formula and not just powdered cow's milk? He could be drinking too much since bottles have a faster flow rate than breastfeeding, he also could have an allergy to the formula, you could try a different brand. Good Luck
either your giving your baby too much milk or he/she isnt used to it, it will take sometime.

tell your wife to try pumping her milk out into bottles.
My daughter vomited formula because on a protein allergy and had to be put on hypoallergenic formula.
maybe you are overfeeding your baby.she can still breastfeed after work.good luck

Does frothy foam created after mixing powder formula make baby more gassy?

I usually pour the mixed formula into another bottle so that newborn won't get foamy froth, but I end up using a lot of bottle and things to mix and then feed.

Just wondering it the frothy mix on top has any effect on baby...Does frothy foam created after mixing powder formula make baby more gassy?
It does for our baby, so we use a rubbermaid jug (32 oz) and mix up the formula ahead of time and store it in the fridge.Does frothy foam created after mixing powder formula make baby more gassy?
I think that the froth can cause problems. Instead of shaking my son's bottle I usually stir the formula in the same bottle that I give him. This seems to help a lot.
I did the same thing and my baby is not gassy... try going to a doctor because there are different formulas that make them gassy, i just took my boy off lactogen and put him on s26 and now he is fine...the lactogen was making him too gassy..i make up the 180ml bottles which is the next step up from his age and pour my measurements in to what he need and if he wants more i have got more in the fridge for him like even if he has a snack feed babies will do that... but good luck sweety it is hard i just been through it....
no that froth doesnt make my baby gassy either.
Frothy foam does not give the baby gas. Once the bottle is turned upside down, the frothy substance goes to the bottom. Once milk is gone take the bottle out of the baby's mouth.

  • When can i start giving my baby powdered formula?

my son will be 2 months march 7th and since the day he was born, he was on ready made formula...i was wondering when can he switch to powdered formula and if he's going to get gas...by the way he's drinking similac advanceWhen can i start giving my baby powdered formula?
actually, there is a difference- powdered formua harbors more bacteria and has more bubbles which can cause gas- its up to you- most women use powdered from the start- safest formula is ready made though its much more expensiveWhen can i start giving my baby powdered formula?
Like everyone said, you can switch at anytime. I use the ready made formula when we go on trips, but I use powdered formula otherwise. Just make sure when you start using powdered that you shake it very very well and have no chunks left in the bottle- this is what can cause gas. Sometimes my husband has to give the bottle a good shake even after I have because I can't get all of it to mix.
I gave my baby the powdered formula when he was 3 days old after I left the hospital. He was and still is perfectly fine. It should make no difference.
You can use powdered formula anytime. Just make sure you use Similac advance. I switched my daughter from liquid to powder and she had no problem.
When I talked to the public health nurse, when my son was 1 week old, she said they don't recommend powdered formula for infants under 1 month. I found that the powdered formula made my son have more gas, but his system just couldn't handle the powdered. We were finally able to give him just powdered formula at around 5 1/2 months. For your son, it will depend on his digestive system.
it does't make any diffence... my little was on liquid the switched to powder 3 days later... and he was fine
If you use the same kind of formula, only in powdered form, there should be absolutely no change to his digestive system. The only difference between ready made and powder is convenience.
Anytime is fine. My son was on the Similac Advance also %26amp; we switched him back %26amp; forth all the time.

I advise getting one of those formula mixers. It works a lot better than just shaking the bottle up. I got that advice from someone on here %26amp; wish I had used it from the first day I started on the powder.

The powder is much cheaper, so it's worth the bit of extra effort. Good luck!
they can drink it from birth, i have my 3m old daughter on Karicare. If in doubt call a midwife or your local hospital.

Is milk prepared from milk powder better to baby around 18 months or packed milk?

packed milk is from milk available in carton pack.Is milk prepared from milk powder better to baby around 18 months or packed milk?
I hope you know that what you asked is completly stupid ._.Is milk prepared from milk powder better to baby around 18 months or packed milk?
You should read and see if they have preservatives, that's never healthy, but I would use those 2 options only if you travel and only for a short period of time, because I'm not sure if that type of milk has nutritional value like the fresh one.

    Check this website

    just give them real milk
    Packed
Milk in a carton with Vitamin D is the best that you can give.

My 6 month old got some baby powder in one of her eyes.?

Does she need to go to the ER? (I cleaned her eye with water)My 6 month old got some baby powder in one of her eyes.?
Probably not. If it looks red later then I would call the doctor. I don't know if you doc answers questions like this over the phone but I doubt an ER trip is necessary maybe call your dr if it makes you feel better :)My 6 month old got some baby powder in one of her eyes.?
    No
just make sure u cleaned it out good. she will be fine
Keep flushing it with water, and thats about all you can do.
no just keep it cleaned out with water and watch for redness

My baby prefers ready to use formula, should I try to switch her over to powder even though she spits it out?

She is 5 wks old and I breast fed for the first 3 1/2 wks.My baby prefers ready to use formula, should I try to switch her over to powder even though she spits it out?
Maybe you could mix them together and then slowly decrease the amount of ready made stuff over time?My baby prefers ready to use formula, should I try to switch her over to powder even though she spits it out?
does it matter to you? if no the give her whats easier for her. If you prefer powdered then make sure its mixed right and at the right temp and just keep trying she will get used to it.

If you really think she cares alot then mix some premixed powder formula with the caned and gradually stop adding the canned
Use the ready to use formula for now, then switch her in a few weeks - maybe transitioning gradually to the powder.

Or, you could breast-feed her again for a while, that is free and she will prefer the taste of that over either of the others.
You started out on the right track, you should return to breastfeeding. It's not too late. Feeding formula especially with rejection already observed is a recipe for disaster.
wow i can imagine how expensive the ready to use formula is for u. I would try the powder and consult ur doctor to see if she has any suggestions
Why on Earth did you stop breastfeeding at 3 1/2 weeks? You should breastfeed her for about a year. Good luck.
Re-lactate, your baby is going to end up with reactions.

Yes. It moisturizes but it takes the dampness out because water is bad for your skin it actually dries it out.

If i put baby powder will it make my skin whiter permanently??

i put it on and it made my skin whiter, but i want it to be light permanently. how though????????????????????If i put baby powder will it make my skin whiter permanently??
ask micheal jacksonIf i put baby powder will it make my skin whiter permanently??
yeah, that's why all babies have white asses.

    Duh.
Try what Micheal Jackson did. He has a secret and its the answer to your question
Yup, it gives you Michael Jackson disease!
ummm nooo baby powder wouldnt do it..lmaoo
It makes it whiter? Its a powder. Come on now...get real
    It is temporary.

    Avoid the sun will help.

Enjoy who you are. It is one of the things that makes you special.
    skin bleaching like michael jackson
no, it won't help... try creams and other whitening products you can use... ask your dermatologist about it coz in some cases people are allergic to some beauty products...
no it won't be whiter it will be like a light color if u put alot on
unfortunately no it won't, just minimize your time in the sun, use sunscreen, cover your skin. your skin will lighten AND you won't get skin cancer!
no... it won't work that way. You should be comfortable in the skin you are in. It's what GOD gave you. Love it and embrace it. If you are worried about others liking/loving you, they will. You have to start by liking/loving yourself. There are facilities throughout the country that will help you to ';bleach'; your skin, but it isn't cheap nor painless.
Work graveyard shifts and shun the sun. Hey that rhymes.
No that won't work.. but you'll smell like old people all the time
Go to Sally's Beauty Supply and they have whitner for your skin... If ya wanna make some at home, but it takes awhile this way.. Take bleach(clorax) and Baking Soda mix it together and put it on the portion of your skin you want whiter.... Be careful if putting on face tho....

What ya wanna do, look like Michael Jackson????
u can put it , but without ur baby seeing u
    hehehe

    Maybe cause powder is white???

How old are you? Stop thinking about lightening yourself and be happy that you are who you are.

    Look at Michael Jackson.
    mj
of course baby powder won't make your skin whiter permanently

    DUH!!!!!!!!

and if you want to be lighter then you should get plastic surgery or some thing but then you would look like Michel Jackson and that not bad is you want to look like a crazy ghost
stay out of the sun - become goth
    Unfortunately not lol
No... it goes away if you rub it in. it doesnt bleach your skin
Well, powder won't do it, it will just rub off on your clothing, and come completely off the next time you bathe.

First and answer, then a question... I know there are skin lightening creams available...I saw them when I was in the Philippines, how available they are in your area, i couldn't guess.

    Now the question...Why?

It seems as if people are never happy just being themselves..Skinny people want to gain weight, fat people want to get thin, blonds dye their hait dark, brunettes want to be blond, The ladies in the Philippines all wanted fair skin, and here in the States, we spend thousands of dollars laying in tanning booths, or on ';tan from the can'; skin darkeners and tanning oils..

You are beautiful the way you are, don't try to be some made up magazine model, or what you think others want you to be..
    Are you serious?!?

    LMAO!!!
Sorry dear, but the reason for you skin color is your Melanocytes. These are small skin cells filled with melanin a dark pigmented protein that you fortunately inherited.

There are many advantages for being dark. One of these is the susceptibility for types of skin cancer. Try to accept what you are and make the best of it.
No it will not. If you want to make your skin whiter I would try to find out what Michael Jackson used. That should work.
There are skin bleaches, but you should see a dermatologist to make sure you're being safe.
    No.

There is special creams will help you to clear your skin.

It helps a lot if you stay away from the sun.
why would u want lighter skin?
If you use three bottles of bottles on your skin, you will turn white instantly...go ahead and try it...it works!
Call michael Jackson. He might be able to help but the Baby powder isn't going to help

If you put baby powder on your face dose it do anything?

just wonderingIf you put baby powder on your face dose it do anything?
Nope. I take ordinary loose face powder and mix in a little baby powder b/c all face powders make my face look too dark.If you put baby powder on your face dose it do anything?
Makes your face baby-bottom smooth and baby-bottom smelling.
    Probably dry it out.
yeah it does. actually mine is a T-zone skin so i apply a lil bit of cream and then apply baby powder on my face. it serves two purposes 1) ur skin gets a matte finish 2) if u go out then the pollution and dust does not stick to ur face
    absorb sweat and sebum

Help! best way to get on latex mini dress? i know one is supposed to use baby/talcum powder but how??

i heard the best way to put on a rubber dress is to use talcum, baby powder, to put IN the dress, NOT on yourself, is that correct? if so, how do you put it IN the dress without turning a black dress, white and making a mess? please help, i want to try it on!! lol thanks!Help! best way to get on latex mini dress? i know one is supposed to use baby/talcum powder but how??
IF you use talc, you should put it on the inside of the dress and on you... You then use polish to get the talc off the outside of the dress.

However, I use silicon lube to put my latex on!

    Enjoy!

JinaHelp! best way to get on latex mini dress? i know one is supposed to use baby/talcum powder but how??
the powder shouldn't be able to penetrate the dress such that it shows on the outside.

Just be careful and buff it off afterwards with the spray polish stuff you can get.
I once read that you roll it into a ring, use the baby powder to get it in position, then roll it up over your body. (or down, as the case may be.)
Try Pjur lube. You will never use powder again.
    try baby oil

What sort of washing powder and fabric softner do you use for your baby???

    i use fluffy (softner)

    and

    Omo or Nappysan (powder)

and does what YOU use agree with your baby? What sort of washing powder and fabric softner do you use for your baby???
i use fluffy or cuddly (softner) and OMO washing powder, they are the only ones that i have used since i had my 1st daughter 5 yrs ago,a dnim currently 32 weeks with baby #3 and will continue to use themWhat sort of washing powder and fabric softner do you use for your baby???
The same washing powder I use for all our laundry (generally Surf as it's reasonably priced %26amp; the clothes actually come out clean.) I just wash all our clothes together (the only time bub's were ever washed seperately was before he was born when I did several loads of new stuff.) He has never had a problem with skin irritation, of course, if he had, washing powder would have been the first thing I tried changing.

I don't use softener as I don't think it really makes a difference to clothes, and using it on towels reduces their absorbency. (about once every 6 mths I put a 1/2 quantity of softener in with my cloth nappies as they tend to get rough over time. But that's only been once so far cos he is only 8 mths lol)
You don't have to go out and buy the expensive dreft or snow white for babies - just look for a kind that has no fragrances. Also, when you do the wash, don't overload it with clothes - you want all the clothes to tumble freely and get really rinsed so the detergent doesn't stay on the clothes.
I used to use non bio, but whats the point not washin ur clothes in it? they r on the baby just as much my twins r 14mths now i use what smells nice! lol nothing affects their skin, remember u need to wash everything in non bio to get the proper effect, if baby comes in ur bed with the normal stuff wats the point?
i was told i had to use dreft on all of the babies things, well being a first time mom i did, for about 2months. then i just started washing his clothes with mine and he has never broken out or anything from it.
We use All Free laundry detergent and Downey Free fabric softener sheets. Yes, this agrees with our baby. If it didn't, we wouldn't use it.
You shouldn't use fabric softener for your baby. It makes a thin film of chemicals on the clothes.
i bought dreft since it was suggested by everyone, but honestly my baby is not bothered by other kinds.
i used drift and when she turn 1 i start to use downy fabric softener.
Look for something with no dyes or perfumes or chemicals
Which ever one is on special when I need it. They don't need any special type.
I use Tide or whatever is on sale. My baby's skin was fine with the regular soaps that I use on my clothes.
    I use Dreft laundry detergent
We use All free and clear, and for fabric softner we use downy.
We use All free and no fabric softner.
lux flakes are great for babies sensitive skin
    i have dreft.
    use dreft
    drift its pink
Tide free. I use on all of our entire laundry so i dont need to wash hers seperately.

  • Baby boys and baby powder?

I heard that you were not to use baby powder on boys because it can harm the boys penis or somehow infect it. Is this true??Baby boys and baby powder?
I've raised three boys, and although I have heard a lot of reasons not to use baby powder- that one is new on me. I didn't use baby powder on mine because it cakes up in all those little bitty creased parts and is a devil of a thing to clean off properly. If the little boy is uncircumcised, the powders, potions, lotions and creams can accumulate under the foreskin and cause trouble- if not scruptiously cleaned away each diaper change. That's almost impossible to do, and practically invites the chance to get ';shot'; by that unholstered iron. I don't think you need to use anything on baby tushies except diapers- which should be changed whenever needed. I used vitamin E and sunlight to combat what few rashes we had, and that worked just fine. Baby powders tend to contain talc, which they say is a respiratory irritant and can cause problems if breathed in. The perfume is not good for delicate skin, either. In the event mine developed heat rash, or prickly heat, I used cornstarch- dusted on lightly with a makeup brush I kept for that purpose alone. Although the smell of the powder is appealing, I would much prefer just smelling a clean baby, without the perfumes and clouds of powder.Baby boys and baby powder?
The reason you shouldn't use baby powder is, because it can get into the baby's lungs and may cause proplems. I use 100% cornstarch on my son( the kind you buy in the baking isle not the stuff you can get in the baby powder bottles).
My doctor, and the nurses at the hospital told me not to use baby powder near my sons penis. They said if it gets inside it can cause irritation or infection. They said it's safe to use on his butt but to just be careful not to get it near the penis. They also told me that they recommended the liquid baby powder now. Hope that helps.
Baby powder is bad for babies, boys and girls. Just don't use it, they don't even need it!
I was told never to use baby powder. On a boy or a girl. So i didn't, just be very careful to make sure that you dry in all the creases.
I never use powder or cream on my boy. And he only gets small rashes when he is teething. Very rare, thats when I use Destin. I think the diapers now days are better, and creams and stuff are not needed on a daily basis.
Never heard this, but then again I never used baby powder on my boy. Used cloth diapers, so had no trouble.
I never heard that one before. I bought baby powder and only used it a couple of times since every time I did use it, it only caked up on his butt and more mess than it was worth.
Never heard that one, my son has never had a problem with it in his three years of life. Do not put it on a circumcision wound as someone else said if he has had one. So many wives tales, I'll tell ya. You would imagine that they would have said it would affect girls instead of boys when they were making that one up, it would make more sense. I am not a doctor and feel you should always consult yours but I believe that you have been miss-led.
I have two sons and I have never heard that. But I don't recommend powder for the diaper area. I use A%26amp;D ointment (original (yellow) formula) with every diaper change. It keeps their sensitive skin protected. Also powder makes poopy butts harder to wipe. A%26amp;D makes things much easier. Even the hospital uses A%26amp;D for newborns' diaper area(in PA, anyhow). Hope this helps.

p.s. I'm not against baby powder. I use it for little toes and in the neck area to help keep the skin dry and fresh! Do use the baby powder made from pure cornstarch.
Never heard that. I always make sure I clean all the powder off mine's winky real good though. I know it can get stuck in the skin %26amp; needs to be gotten out.
THAT'S FINE, JUST AS LONG AT EACH DIAPER CHANGE THAT YOU CLEAN HIS PENIS WELL BY PULLING BACK THE SKIN , DON'T TO FORGET TO PULL IT BACK FORWARD AFTER EACH CLEANING.
Yes its true i lost my left nut because of it ha ha ha laugh all ya want because my right one is huge.
No. This will not affect boys. Even then better consult with GP with the powder which you are going to use and they may assist you
I have been using it on my son since he was three months old and he is fine. The only thing is that you don't allow him to inhale it because it can cause lung damage. They do have the roll on kind. I bought some and didn't like it.
I have 2 boys. I is 6 and the other is 2 1/2. I used powder with them and it didn't hurt that part. I have read that it can cause respiratory problems.
No it is not true. However, it is not recommended to use baby powder with talc because the talc can get into their lungs and irritate them causing breathing problems. Steer clear of the powder.
i powder my testicles daily and am fine. should be OK as long as circumcision is healed
I read that powder has been found in baby girl's ovaries. I've never heard anything about boys, but I would never use powder on a baby's or even on my private parts! Just sprinkle a little into the creases of your babies groin, avoiding the penis
    HI there,

Well baby powder is not harmful to a boy but the only thing it can be harmful for is the child's breathing, so they have come up with lotion powder and it works the same.

I would not use powder on your baby until he is at least 6-8 months old like I did and my son is 13 months old and he is fine.

If that was true there would be some sort of warning on the product.
Not true. But you shouldn't use too much powder, no matter if it's on a boy or a girl...definitely never enough that it will ';cake'; on the baby's bottom when it gets wet. Also, don't use the baby powder that has talc as it's primary ingredient. Studies have shown that inhaling the dust of talc can cause lung issues.
    Not that I know of.
I've never heard that it will harm the boy's penis. Now you do have to be careful not to use an abundance of powder as this will increase the chance of rashes and really doesn't help that much. A good cream for diaper rash is better. But, as always, I would recommend that you speak to your doctor about any concerns you may have.
never heard that one, ask your doctor.
